Aberdeen Sub-Aqua Club

Aberdeen Sub-Aqua Club was formed in 1958 and has almost 30 members of varying ages and qualification levels. It is part of the British Sub-Aqua Club and one of the longest established diving clubs in the North East of Scotland. Take a look at this video of club members diving in 1960!

We have a fabulous coastline for shore diving and many great local sites, we also have our own inflatable for boat diving. The visibility can be as good as 15m and there is a great variety of marine life to see. We also arrange club dive trips, with plans this year to visit Oban, Loch Fyne, Arran, Firth of Forth, Scapa Flow and Capenwray. Have a look at our Expeditions page for more detail. For more information about the club and our diving, take a look at the About Us and Gallery pages.

AbSAC welcome divers from all diving agencies. We have an active training programme and just completed virtual lockdown lectures for Sports Diver and Dive Leader theory courses, our trip to Oban in spring was primarily held to advance diver certifications to Sports Diver and Dive Leader. Unlike many other diving agencies, training and certification with BSAC is free to club members (there are small charges for workbooks, pool fees, kit hire etc.). You can learn more about our training programme on the Training page. Please use the Contacts Form to get in touch if you have any questions, we'd love to hear from you!

If you would like to join a like-minded group of people diving in Scotland at all times of the year then you will be most welcome as a member of this branch.

Members, access the private Members page via the menu link. Here you can see the club calendar, recordings of training lectures, get access to private member forums and view/post documents and photos on our database.
